How accurate is BIMIT?

Ensuring the accuracy of our outputs is a core tenet of our service. The accuracy of the Integrated Projects' BIMIT product is intrinsically linked to the precision of the source data it's derived from.

Point Cloud Accuracy

  • Source of Data: The accuracy of BIMIT largely depends on the point cloud generated by the devices used. This includes, but is not limited to, the Matterport Pro 2, the Leica BLK360, or any other camera employed to create the point cloud.

  • Alignment: Proper alignment of the point cloud is crucial. Any misalignment or discrepancy in the point cloud will directly affect the BIMIT product's accuracy.

  • Mirror of Point Cloud: The Building Information Modeling (BIM) produced using BIMIT will directly reflect the precision of the point cloud. If the point cloud is accurate, the resulting BIM will be as well. Conversely, any inaccuracies in the point cloud will be mirrored in the BIM output.

Accuracy is paramount in our industry, and we always recommend using high-quality equipment and best practices when generating point clouds to ensure the best possible results with BIMIT. If you have further questions about the accuracy or any other inquiries, our support team is always here to help.
